In less than two weeks, Bemo is heading to Barcelona to attend Mobile World Congress (MWC), one of the world’s largest technology conventions.
With 84% of last years guests saying it is the most important event in the mobile industry, its unsurprising that we are excited to be joining over 100,000 other attendees for four days of innovation, new technologies and networking.
While our main base is at the SDI stand (Hall 7, Stand 7B31 if you’re looking), we will be spending a lot of our time immersing ourselves in everything MWC has to offer. With so many exciting events, keynotes and industries showcased at the conference, it’s hard to pick where to go and when.
While we will definitely be Tweeting, Facebooking and sharing interesting sights and stories live from MWC, here’s our top five things we will make sure not to miss and you can expect to see on our channels from Mobile World Congress this year:
1. New Technologies
Most major media platforms have already made their predictions for what MWC has in store for the mobile future, with some companies already hinting towards their releases. Each year, mobile’s biggest names showcase their new creations for the attendees to test out. That means we will be getting our hands on some of the newest gadgets from mobile phones to wearables before their public release. We’ll be sharing our first impressions on our social media channels, so don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date.
2. Internet of Things (IoT)
This years theme is The Next Element, with full focus on connectivity and how mobile can become part of a larger ecosystem. Our passion has always been looking beyond mobile and seeing how our devices can create seamless systems with great experiences, so the alignment between our ethos and the conventions’ focal point is exciting. We’ll be exploring its impact on our main industries of interest - Fintech, Mobile Health, Travel and Enterprise.
Located in Hall 8.0, NEXTech is a dedicated space to the future of mobile technology. Promising everything from drones to VR, robotics to AI, it’s exactly the kind of space we want to be in. Being part of an ever changing landscape means embracing the newest technologies and the opportunity to get a glimpse into the future of mobile through the lense of the industry leaders is something we most certainly don’t want to miss.
It’s not a secret that we believe diversity is key to a successful industry, so the Women4Tech Summit is definitely on our list of things not to miss. With events ranging from coaching and networking sessions to diverse panels focusing on equality in our industry, we’re excited to see how this one day summit will encourage the empowerment of women in tech.
5. Barcelona City
We can’t refuse the opportunity to explore such a beautiful city, and with MWC expanding beyond the walls of the conference to evening events, we’re sure to see some of the great restaurants and sightseeing spots Barcelona has to offer. With hundreds of thousands of the world’s leading technology minds scattered around the city, we are sure to be in great company.
