We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our busy software development team. Don’t worry if this is your first job in tech, we still want to hear from you.

This position is aimed at enthusiastic and capable candidates who are in the early stages of a career in the digital sector. We are looking for hard-working, intelligent, people with good communication skills who are willing to get stuck-in to contribute across a range of activities at the heart of Bemo.

Working in a delivery team you will be responsible for assisting with agile delivery of quality assured software to clients that meets the high standard of the organisation. You will be working in a supportive environment making use of the latest cutting-edge tools and technology.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Quality Assurance: working on live client projects, to ensure the highest quality output of Bemo Mobile Development deliverables.

  • QA Research & Development: working with/as part of our Development Team, you will research, design and document best practice for both manual and automated QA processes

  • Participating in working within / improving the structures and as appropriate upholding the Company Quality & Assurance Strategy

  • Mobile or Web Development: we will work with you to design and deliver your career progression around development best practices.

  • Identify an area of QA that you would like to become a Subject Matter Expert in.

  • Identify training to support your growth

  • Manage your time effectively

 

Skills/Experience that we value

  • Ability to meet deadlines, and work across a number of projects simultaneousl

  • Good programming skills with either a computer science degree, related course or relevant work experience

  • Effective Communication skills

  • Detail oriented, you’ll find the faults other people miss

  • The ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

  • Analytical thinking and a can-do attitude

  • Ability to learn quickly, prioritise workload and demonstrate resilience

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Hard working, passionate and reliable and a willingness to contribute to a range of tasks, as and when required

  • Demonstrates the ability to work as part of the team

 

Learning and development

  • Start as a graduate Engineer and join our Quality Assurance team for 6 -12 months. During this period, we will put you through software development training courses and help you manage these whilst you QA live projects.

  • How fast you progress is entirely up to you but we aim to have you working as a Junior Developer on customer facing projects 6-12 months after joining.

  • We develop our engineers to progress quickly in their roles, and to take ownership of code. You have the opportunity to become technical experts, and/or lead teams.

  • Become part of our Lunch & Learn community and help everyone grow! Give a talk/presentation on something interesting you have learnt via a project on in your spare time.

 

Career development

  • Working in small teams of around 5 people means you’ll have responsibility for project deliverables and have the opportunity to help shape technical solutions early on in your career.

  • We expect our Engineers to have expertise across at least two technologies. Our Cross-Train programme is designed to help you quickly adapt and learn different technologies so you can join exciting new projects as they come up.

  • You will be working on commercial projects and will have to find ways to integrate our work with other products and other teams, creating endless opportunities for you to learn and grow your software knowledge and experience.
